At the Cognitive Aging and Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory (CAANLab) we study hearing, and cognition.  We are particularly interested in the impacts of aging, musical training and individual factors in how our brains process music and speech. Our goal is to generate knowledge that can be used to improve hearing abilities for older adults, and others who have difficulty with hearing. Accordingly, the research and research techniques used the lab are diverse, but share the common goal of improving our understanding of the auditory system.
